What a top day !!! Mag swims 40 lengths early in the morning and when she comes home we decide to bike to the nature reserve at Trimley Marshes :) So we pack a picnic and head out along the Trimley road turning down Cordy's Lane to the barrier and the dirt road has now been made up for alot of the way !!! We see a long tailed tit in the bushes by the docks and make it to the hides where we are lucky enough to met Mick the reserve ranger who helps us identify loads of birds inclunding the wonderful shoveler ducks, we missed the marsh harrier and peregine falcons that were spotted earlier but were treated to flypasts from huge flocks of geese and oyster catchers. We had are sandwiches in the hide before continuing along the R.Orwell to Levington Marina seeing a huge flock of corarants getting ready to roost for the night :) It was then back to our freinds Mag and David Coles for coffee and mince pies before biking the last 3 miles in the dark.We were out six and a half hours and had the most wonderful time abit cloudy but really mild compared to this time last year !!!!
